Castlefield (40x50cm. Acrylic on board) Painted 2004 Apparently, Castlefield is where Manchester began when a Roman Commander established a fort and named it Mamcumia after two nearby hills which looked to him like a woman’s breasts. Obviously, he’d not seen his wife for a long while. I like this former church at Castlefield with its vaguely Florentine style and so included it in this painting. Click painting to enlarge it
